Dave's Background
A fifth-generation Oregonian, Dave joined the army at age 17 (See photo at left taken in Korea 1954) and spent the majority of his twenty-year career as a Special Agent, US Army Intelligence, on duty in Korea (twice), Turkey, Germany, Italy, Malta, and the garden spot of the world - Vietnam!
Beginning with assignments as a counterintelligence field agent, Dave later crossed over to the more alluring side of intelligence as a counterespionage Desk Officer and later a Case Officer. Dave was awarded the Bronze Star for action in Vietnam, the Meritorius Service Medal, two Army Commendation Medals,, Korea and Vietnam Service and campaign medals.
Upon retiring in 1973, he began a second career in the insurance industry where he was a company field manager and later an independent insurance agent. He retired from that profession in January 2003, and now spends his 24/7 leisure time teaching insurance continuing education, writing novels, digital photographing, and delving into genetic genealogy. Dave and his wife Wendy reside in Wilsonville, Oregon, south of Portland, Following her retirement from her career in interior design, Wendy has become an accomplished pastel landscape artist.
